Yara Yosif Collection
You know I am a kaftan fan. They fit like an abaya but are much more
colourful and have turned my usual all-black wardrobe into a refreshed
little spring garden. Every time I open my closet doors and see these
bright colours popping out at me it makes me a little more gleeful. I
love my abayas, but sometimes I get sick of seeing black everywhere I
turn, so kaftans are always a welcome alternative.
I came across Yara Yosif's collection
of brightly hued kaftans a few weeks ago and fell in love with them.
She does do the regular long kaftans, but I admire the shorter length
gowns she seems to specialise in. I think they'd go well with a pair of
white skinny jeans underneath them - creating a very summery/spring
looking outfit.
They are great in general as they can be worn as formal pieces in a hijabified outift or slipped over swimsuit when you are lazing around the pool on a hot afternoon.

Below are some of my favourites from her collection. Yara is actually
inspired by the gorgeous women of the Jordanian Royal House (Yara being
Jordanian-American herself) and their elegant fashion sense (Queen Noor
is famous for her kaftan collections) which is evident in her classic,
enduring designs.

My favourite from the collection - such a cute innocent green with
subtle yet feminine detailing. I have this in mind with a pair of white
skinny jeans underneath, matched with a pair of nude heels. Such a
perfect outfit for a hot afternoon!
There are so many more designs and collection updates on her Facebook, Tumbler and Twitter
accounts, including a rather elegant light peach design I have my eye
on. I believe they are still working on their website, which will be located here and up and running by next week.
